Public called upon to be part of healing process

AS the winter school holidays kicked off, the Knysna Tourism board extended a heartfelt invitation for visitors to support the town by attending the many events offered under the Oyster Festival banner from July 7-16.
One of the ways in which you can show support and solidarity for the fire-ravaged region is by joining the Walk for Knysna through the streets of town on Sunday July 16. Besides serving as fundraiser for rebuilding efforts, the event is a way to show appreciation for the brave volunteers who gave so generously of themselves to aid the community of Knysna.
All funds generated through the Walk will be redirected to Knysna Municipality and Tourism to support affected families and communities. You can do the 5km at your own pace, so gather friends and family and help support this excellent cause, starting at the Oyster Festival Grounds at 8am on Sunday morning.
Cost of entry is R30 and you can enter at Pick n Pay stores in Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Sedgefield, and at Garden Route Mall in George, or visit to enter online. Please visit for additional information.
