PLETT police confirmed that the burglary reported on page 3 of our December 12 edition is being investigated. The complainant left her home in Jack Case Street on December 7 at 5pm and slept over at her daughter’s place, according to SAPS spokesman captain Marlene Pieterse.
“When she came back the following morning at 9am, she found her bedroom cupboards had been opened. She discovered that the safe was forced open and that her .38 special revolver as well as jewellery with an estimated value of R510,000 had been stolen,” said Pieterse.
Preliminary investigations indicate that tiles were removed from the roof to gain entry. The police request any person with information to please contact D/Sgt Edwin Smith on 074 811 6999 or 044 501 1949.
